TODAY’S MENU:
WHY SERVE IN GROUPS OF 5-6

You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
👩🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩🍳
The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

WHY SERVE IN GROUPS OF 5-6
Five or six people. One trusted leader. A pathway to Recover, Rebuild, and Return.
The central idea💡🎯🍽️✝️
Large food lines can feed many people, but they rarely create enough space to truly know anyone. A table of five or six allows one trained church staff member or mature volunteer to sit within the group, share the same meal, learn names, listen carefully, and recognize needs that would otherwise remain hidden. The leader is not positioned above the group as an interrogator, but beside them as a steady friend who can help each person move from crisis toward stability.

The Table🍽️🥣🥪☕
A food line can serve hundreds, but a small table can truly know five or six. By placing a trusted staff member or trained volunteer within each group, the church creates room to learn names, hear stories, recognize needs, and build friendships. The meal opens the door, but personal attention allows hope to sit down and stay awhile.

The Conversation 💬📖🤝🙏
The Recovery Table is not an interrogation and it is not a condition for receiving food. It is a welcoming place where each person may speak honestly, establish a practical goal, and receive help finding the right resources. Around a shared meal, strangers begin to trust, burdens become visible, and one achievable step can replace another day of drifting.

The Journey🛤️🧭🥾
The goal is simple: Recover, Rebuild, and Return. Recover from immediate crisis, rebuild healthy habits and relationships, and return to a life of responsibility, community, and purpose. Some people may need many meals and many conversations, but patient friendship can help prepare the prodigal not merely to go home, but to become ready for home.
We are not simply feeding people for today. We are sitting beside them while they prepare for tomorrow.

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage
HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.
I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.
A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.

⛽ Hypermiling #1: Coast to the next red light. 🚦 Hypermiling #2: Watch for stale lights. 🛞 Hypermiling #3: Check tire pressure monthly. 🚚 Hypermiling #4: Remove unnecessary weight. 🌄 Hypermiling #5: Use hills to your advantage. 🚗 Hypermiling #6: Gentle acceleration beats jackrabbit starts.
