TODAY’S MENU: CALZONES from SCRATCH, made ez

Text graphic stating 'locations listed below' in red with a shadow effect.

You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

👩‍🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩‍🍳

The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.

Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

RECIPES

🍕 Step 1: Be Inspired to Try Calzones—The Gospel in a Pocket!

Think of a calzone like this: it’s pizza folded in prayer—a golden pocket of goodness, sealed with love and bursting with flavor. We’d never made them before, but with willing hands and the Holy Spirit’s seasoning, 70-100 calzones came out of our oven and into the hands of big-hearted, hungry men in Belltown. They were warm, filling, and full of hope—just like the message we carry. This isn’t just food—it’s a hug from Heaven, wrapped in dough.

🥣 Step 2: Making Calzones from Scratch — A Faith-Filled Adventure!

Start with the basics: flour, water, salt, olive oil, and yeast 🧂💧🌾🍶—ingredients simple enough for loaves and fishes 🐟🍞 but ready for a miracle. The dough rises (so does our faith! ⬆️✨), then comes the rolling pin 🌀, fillings 🎯 (sausage, pepperoni, bell peppers, cheese 🧀🌶️🥓), and folding 🎁. Each one was brushed with egg wash 🥚 and sent into the fire 🔥—not to burn, but to transform! Your kitchen becomes a Kingdom oven, and your hands are anointed to serve. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳💫 This was fun then and now.

🍽️ Step 3: Serving Suggestions — Make It Easy to Receive Grace!

Cut calzones in half ✂️ for easy sharing, serve in paper boats 🛶, sturdy napkins 🧻, or plates 🍽️ for grab-and-go grace. These gospel pockets are built to travel 🏃‍♂️💨 and still deliver joy. Pro-tip: Tuck in a verse card 📖💌 or a printed John 17 trifold—because sometimes the Word tastes best right after warm bread. 😇🕊️

GAS PRICES

⛽CHEAP GAS is in the odd places. Get gas outside of Seattle. Best prices are either in Fife at the 7-11 on 3309 Pacific Hwy E. If your looking for a great deal north of Seattle:🚗

Just after church, we made pit stop at COSTCO. We paid 4.79 at the COSTCO on 16616 Twin Lakes Ave, Marysville, WA 98271, just of the 172nd St. in north Marysville, WA. 🚗

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage

HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.

I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.

A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.

Hypermiling #1: Coast to the next red light. 🚦 Hypermiling #2: Watch for stale lights. 🛞 Hypermiling #3: Check tire pressure monthly. 🚚 Hypermiling #4: Remove unnecessary weight. 🌄 Hypermiling #5: Use hills to your advantage. 🚗 Hypermiling #6: Gentle acceleration beats jackrabbit starts.
