You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

👩‍🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩‍🍳

The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.

Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🥣 Beef Stew in a Bread Bowl!

🥖 1. A Bowl Full of Comfort and Kindness! There’s something wonderfully inviting about a steaming bowl of beef stew, especially when the bowl itself is freshly baked bread! A generous helping of tender beef, potatoes, carrots, and vegetables swimming in savory gravy makes a meal that warms the hands, fills the tummy, and encourages conversation. And here’s our little kitchen secret: we don’t need to spend all day cooking! A hearty canned beef stew, such as Dinty Moore, heated thoroughly and spooned into a hollowed-out bread bowl, makes a delicious and practical meal. Place the bread bowl inside a sturdy paper bowl to catch the gravy, add a strong spoon and a napkin, and you’ve got a meal ready to travel. Best of all, when the stew is gone, you can eat the bowl! Now that’s what I call cleaning your plate! 😋 ps… cheese makes a good floor of the bread bowl!

🏡 2. Three Tables, One Wonderful Opportunity! This simple meal can open doors to three very different kinds of fellowship. At a college gathering, five or six young adults can sit together over bread bowls and an open Bible, sharing their experiences and discovering God’s Word. At a Gospel mission or felony recovery residence, the same meal becomes an opportunity for encouragement, accountability, and friendship as we sit beside our guests rather than simply serving them. And at a homeless campsite or neighborhood park, a warm serving of stew can provide practical nourishment and an invitation to a friendly conversation. When appropriate, we’ve even been welcomed into people’s homes to prepare the meal right in their kitchens! Whether the setting is a dining room, a community table, or a park bench, the goal remains the same: make room for someone to feel welcomed, heard, and valued. ❤️

📖 3. With Every Meal Goes a Message! The beauty of this ministry is not merely what goes into the bread bowl, but what happens around it. We begin with a warm greeting, offer a hearty meal, listen carefully, and allow conversation to develop naturally. As opportunities arise, we share the encouragement and hope found in Scripture, remembering the words of Jesus: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4, KJV) A simple meal can become the beginning of a friendship, a Bible study, or a renewed sense of hope. We aren’t simply delivering food and moving along. We’re taking time to sit together, learn together, and care for one another. With every meal goes a message, and with every message goes a meal. That’s the heart of CHAPEL.today! 🙏🥣

GAS PRICES

⛽CHEAP GAS is in the odd places. Get gas outside of Seattle. Best prices are either in Fife at the 7-11 on 3309 Pacific Hwy E. If your looking for a great deal north of Seattle:🚗

Image of a gas price comparison featuring three locations: 7-Eleven in Fife, WA with regular at $4.84 and diesel at $7.02, AMPM in Seattle, WA with regular at $6.19 and diesel at $7.99, and River Rock Tobacco in Arlington, WA with regular at $4.79 and diesel at $6.75. We just found that the Union 76 on 4th St. in Marysville, WA has the best price today! We paid 4.89 at the while visiting NW Baptist Church on 2nd St. There in Marysville, WA. 🚗

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage

HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.

I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.

A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.

⛽ Hypermiling #1: Coast to the next red light. 🚦 Hypermiling #2: Watch for stale lights. 🛞 Hypermiling #3: Check tire pressure monthly. 🚚 Hypermiling #4: Remove unnecessary weight. 🌄 Hypermiling #5: Use hills to your advantage. 🚗 Hypermiling #6: Gentle acceleration beats jackrabbit starts.
