TODAY’S MENU: Turkey with Stuffing on a Hoagie

You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
👩🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩🍳
The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🦃 Hot Roast Turkey Sandwich – For 5-6 People
🥪 1️⃣ The Ingredients— A Call To Excellence
Simple meals often become the most memorable meals. A loaf of bread, sliced turkey, and a kettle of warm gravy have comforted families for generations. By combining white and dark meat, every sandwich has a little extra flavor while stretching the turkey to feed everyone around the table. 🦃🍞
Optional: butter for the bread
1¼ to 1½ pounds cooked turkey (white and dark meat mixed)
6 sturdy sandwich rolls or thick slices of country bread
2 to 3 cups turkey or chicken gravy
Salt and pepper to taste

🍅 2️⃣ The Assembly — Build It Generously
The secret is taking your time with the turkey. Slice it thin, warm it gently in the gravy, and let every piece soak up the rich flavor. A lightly toasted roll keeps everything together and gives each person a hearty sandwich that is warm from the first bite to the last. 🍲🥪
Slice the turkey into thin, bite-sized pieces so every sandwich receives a generous portion of both white and dark meat. Warm the gravy in a saucepan until it gently simmers, then stir in the sliced turkey just long enough to heat it through without drying the meat. Lightly toast the bread if desired to help it hold together under the warm gravy.

🤝 3️⃣ The Serving — Fellowship in Action
Wrap each sandwich in deli paper or butcher paper so it stays warm and is easy to carry. Handing someone a warm, wrapped sandwich feels like giving them more than lunch. It offers comfort, dignity, and an invitation to slow down for a few minutes. Gather people in groups of five or six, pour a cup of coffee, and let conversation grow naturally. Some of the best friendships begin with nothing more complicated than sharing a warm meal together. ☕🤝🦃
Pile a generous portion of warm turkey onto each roll or slice of bread. Spoon a little hot gravy over the turkey, allowing it to soak into the bread without making it soggy. Place the top slice on the sandwich and serve immediately while hot.

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage
HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.
I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.
A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.

⛽ Hypermiling #1: Coast to the next red light. 🚦 Hypermiling #2: Watch for stale lights. 🛞 Hypermiling #3: Check tire pressure monthly. 🚚 Hypermiling #4: Remove unnecessary weight. 🌄 Hypermiling #5: Use hills to your advantage. 🚗 Hypermiling #6: Gentle acceleration beats jackrabbit starts.
