Pastor Joel and Open Door Baptist Church in Kent, WA have lead the Biblical charge of “Preaching the Gospel to every creature.” Their heartbeat has been to share the easily understood message of Salvation through the shed blood of Christ. On Saturdays you can find the ODBC family meeting for a time of Bible study and prayer, then they hit the streets. LGBTQ??? What Do We Do with that?
Brother, Sister, Pastor, Family of Christ don’t stare at the outside! Treat every costume the same.
“…Man looketh on the outward appearance; but the Lord looketh upon the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7b You know that is a half a quote and not in context; but you know why I am using this verse. The guy at the Union Gospel Mission can appear any what that he wants on the first day. Hearty street outreach does not mind what you look like, smell like or anything else. So, “Jeremiah 1:8 “Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee…” (another imperfect verse application) When giving out the Scripture, speaking the truth in love (kindly) it should not matter if they are dressed like AWANA kids, the Gaither Trio or NASA astronauts. Give the Scripture the same way to each and don’t hold back the blessing.
IF YOUR GOSPEL IS SCRIPTURE, IT WORKS PERFECTLY
IF… you’re bringing a dough and $how, a social gospel, or any other kind of dog and pony show, expect a vicious reply from whirlwind. “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” Acts 19:15 You know that verse was spot-on! Give the Scripture of Salvation. This is person to person, door to door and Bible study to Bible study. Our beloved friends at Open Door and all our church friends THEY WELCOME EVERYONE.
I know that you will immediately feel the Spirit of the Lord is there the second you visit.
