You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

👩‍🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩‍🍳

The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.

Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

RECIPES

A graphic displaying today's recipe for Potato, Broccoli & Cheddar Soup, meant for 100 servings, with a recommendation of 5-6 servings per group.
Recipe for Cream of Potato Soup using dehydrated sliced potatoes, including ingredient list and preparation method.

🥔 Part One: The Potato Soup Gets a Broccoli Makeover! 🥦 Start with your favorite hearty potato soup recipe, using tender potatoes, savory seasonings, and a creamy broth. Now invite broccoli to the party! For each group of five, add one or two bags of frozen broccoli, depending on how vegetable-rich you want the soup. Allow the broccoli to simmer until tender, stirring occasionally so those wonderful green florets become part of every generous serving. The potatoes provide the substance, the broccoli adds color and nutrition, and together they create a satisfying meal that would make even Papa Smurf put down his mushroom stew! 🍄🥣💚

🧀 Part Two: Cheddar Makes Everything Better! 🍞 For each group of five, stir one large can of cheese sauce into the hot potato and broccoli soup, allowing it to blend into a wonderfully creamy, golden mixture. Keep the heat gentle and stir frequently to prevent scorching. Then grate loads and loads of cheddar cheese for a generous topping on every serving! 🧀🧀🧀 Add a slice or two of toasted bread on the side, perfect for dipping, scooping, and collecting every last delicious drop. A little butter on that toast certainly wouldn’t hurt! 🧈🔥 Now we have a complete, filling meal without complicated preparation or expensive ingredients.

💙 Part Three: A Cup of Soup and a Circle of Friends! 📖🤲 Forget the shallow soup bowl! A large, wide-bottomed, sturdy paper soup cup is the better choice for serving. It holds a generous helping, fits comfortably in the hands, and works almost like a mug without needing a handle. Choose insulated, leak-resistant cups with secure lids when transporting the soup, and provide sturdy spoons and paper towels. 🥄🍲 Gather five friends around a table, pass out the toasted bread, open the Scriptures, and let the conversation begin. Whether at a college gathering, a Gospel mission, or a sidewalk outreach, a warm cup of soup can open the door to friendship, encouragement, and the Gospel. A warm meal fills the hands, but the Word of God speaks to the heart! ❤️📖

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage

HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.

I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.

A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.

⛽ Hypermiling #1: Coast to the next red light. 🚦 Hypermiling #2: Watch for stale lights. 🛞 Hypermiling #3: Check tire pressure monthly. 🚚 Hypermiling #4: Remove unnecessary weight. 🌄 Hypermiling #5: Use hills to your advantage. 🚗 Hypermiling #6: Gentle acceleration beats jackrabbit starts.
