TODAY’S MENU: POTATO SALAD
A GRAND MEAL IN A MUG

You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
👩🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩🍳
The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🥪POTATO SALAD for 100 – A GRAND MEAL IN A MUG
1. The Humble Potato That Brings Everyone Together
Potato salad may never appear on the cover of a fancy food magazine, but it has something even better: it makes people feel at home. The potato is one of the most practical foods God ever placed in the garden. It is filling, affordable, stores well, and stretches to feed many people. When mixed with mayonnaise, mustard, eggs, celery, seasonings, and a little care, it becomes more than a side dish. It becomes comfort food. For food ministry, potato salad is a reminder that simple ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, can become a generous blessing. Sometimes the most effective meals are not the most expensive—they are the ones that remind people of family, kindness, and a full table.

2. Add Bacon, Add Smiles
Now comes the moment when Gospel Dog’s ears suddenly stand straight up. 🐕🥓
A good potato salad is wonderful. A potato salad sprinkled with crispy bacon becomes an event. The smoky flavor adds richness and texture while turning an ordinary side dish into something memorable. Bacon can be added as a topping just before serving so it remains crisp and attractive. For teams serving large groups, this creates visual appeal while helping portions remain consistent. A little bacon goes a long way. The result is a dish that feels special without becoming complicated. Presentation matters because people eat first with their eyes, and a beautiful bowl of potato salad topped with bacon says, “We prepared this with care.”

3. The Hearty Sausage Upgrade
If the goal is to create a complete meal rather than a side dish, sliced smoked sausage is a wonderful companion. Instead of serving potato salad beside the main course, the sausage transforms it into the main course. Hearty rounds of smoked sausage mixed throughout or served on top provide protein, flavor, and substance. For outdoor ministry and food distribution, this combination works beautifully because it portions easily, travels well, and satisfies hungry people. A bowl filled with seasoned potato salad and generous sausage slices becomes what Adventure Cat calls:
“A bowl of practical happiness.” 😸
And perhaps that is the lesson. A successfully content life is often built from simple things done well. A potato. A little seasoning. A little bacon. A little sausage. Shared with gratitude. Shared with friends.

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage
HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.
I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.
A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.
Yes – I use GASBUDDY.com⛽
⛽CHEAP GAS is in the odd places. Get gas outside of Seattle. Best prices are either in Fife at the 7-11 on 3309 Pacific Hwy E. If your looking for a great deal north of Seattle:🚗

HAPPY DAYS are here again!
COSTCO was among the cheapest this week at 4.85 at the Costco in Marysville (16616 Twin Lakes Ave) WA. 🚗
NO – they do not sponsor us. Always a ministry; never monetized.
