Chaplain Aaron: Welcome Ana, We are truly honored to have you read your book here on our website. You’re a native of the Golden State, California. Did you start writing there:
Ana: I grew up in Sacramento, California and lived there for 25 years before moving to Connecticut. I started writing in my senior year of high school because I didn’t have many friends at that point in my life and found myself drawn to writing. I fell in love with creative writing instantly, it’s truly my biggest passion.
Chaplain Aaron: There are many things that prepare a person for writing; but what would you say was the biggest good or bad thing that was the catalyst, what prepared you?
Ana: A few years after moving to Connecticut I went through a difficult divorce, but it shaped me into the woman I am now. I am grateful that God has redeemed me and set me free from the bondage of my past.
Chaplain Aaron: As a Christ follower, have you always walked with God? When you came back, what was your focus?
Ana: During the time I stepped away from God I wasn’t writing things that would give him glory. So when I came back to Christ at 30, I had a new philosophy: God gave me the gift of being able to write, so I wanna honor him with it. Nowadays I make sure He is in the center of it.
Chaplain Aaron: This book that we will be listening to, was is a tough to write and stay focused? You are both married and have children. This book alone must have taken much of your spare time.
Ana: After five years of writing my first novel The Right Way to Say Goodbye it was published in December of 2020. The book was a labor of love and sacrifice. It also tested my trust and faith in God often, but through this writing process it brought a lot of healing into my own life. I hope and pray it could do the same for just one person who reads it.
Chaplain Aaron: Tomorrow you will be reading your book online; this will be great. By the way, do you have other books and blogs that you have published?
Ana: My second novel, And Then My Life Happened is out now and I am currently working on my next literary work. In addition to my novels, I also have a blog and two podcasts. The links are on my homepage.
