The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🌯 A Taste of California Nostalgia 🐈⬛🌴 There is something about a hot burrito that can drive you backward through decades! Jimboy’s Tacos brings back memories of California fast food, with those wonderfully simple combinations of beans, meat, and cheese tucked into a tortilla and finished with that distinctive Parmesan touch. 🧀🌯 But the trail goes even farther back to Mom and Dad and Mr. Taco, the fast-food cat’s meow of its day. 🐱✨ Sometimes a favorite meal is more than something we eat. One bite opens an old door, and suddenly family, childhood, California, and yesterday are sitting at the table with us. 🏡❤️🌮
🔥 The Almost-Fried Burrito 🧈🌯 You don’t actually need a deep fryer to get that wonderful hot, crisp exterior. Make a simple burrito with beans, seasoned meat, and cheese, roll it snugly, and place it seam-side down on a hot griddle or skillet with just a little butter. 🫘🥩🧀🧈 Slowly roll the burrito from side to side until the tortilla becomes golden, lightly crisp, and beautifully toasted all around, almost like a panini without the press. Finish it with a light sprinkle of Parmesan and you have that delicious fried-burrito character without dropping the whole thing into the fryer. 🔥😋
🤲 Simple Food, Simple Service 📖🌯 This is sidewalk-food simplicity at its finest. A toasted burrito already comes in its own edible wrapper, so hand it out hot with a couple of sturdy paper towels and you are ready to eat. 🧻🌯 No bowl, no fork, no elaborate serving station, and very little cleanup. Make five or six, sit down together, share the same meal, open the Scriptures, and allow a simple burrito to become the beginning of a much more important conversation. ☕📖💬❤️ A meal in the hand can become an invitation to the table.

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage
HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.
I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.
A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.
