TODAY’S MENU: SUSTAINABLE SERVING BOWLS

You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
👩🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩🍳
The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🥣 Feed Five or Six… Build a Family
A meal for five or six is about more than serving food. It creates a small circle where people naturally begin talking, laughing, listening, and helping one another. Large crowds can sometimes feel anonymous, but a small group quickly becomes a team. Just as the Continental Army gathered around a simple fire with bread, beans, and meat, today’s volunteers can gather around a simple meal and discover that fellowship is one of the most nourishing ingredients on the table.

🔥 🍞 🫘
Small groups also encourage everyone to contribute. One person pours the coffee, another serves the bread, another fills the bowls, while someone else welcomes the newcomer. Before long, strangers become neighbors, and neighbors become friends. Instead of simply receiving a meal, people become part of preparing, sharing, and encouraging one another. Every serving becomes an opportunity to teach, to learn, and to strengthen the entire group.

🤝 ❤️ ☕
Today’s food service is not simply about what we prepare. It is about how we prepare it. A meal shared by five or six reminds us that no one should have to face life alone. Around a small table, hope is easier to share, conversations become personal, and burdens become lighter. Feed the body with simple food, feed the heart with genuine fellowship, and you’ll discover that the strongest communities are often built one small meal, one campfire, and one table at a time.

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage
HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.
I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.
A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with a full-sized electrical box truck.

⛽ Hypermiling #1: Coast to the next red light. 🚦 Hypermiling #2: Watch for stale lights. 🛞 Hypermiling #3: Check tire pressure monthly. 🚚 Hypermiling #4: Remove unnecessary weight. 🌄 Hypermiling #5: Use hills to your advantage. 🚗 Hypermiling #6: Gentle acceleration beats jackrabbit starts.
