🌭 TODAY’S MENU Sausage, Egg & Cheese ROLL

You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

👩‍🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩‍🍳

The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.

Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🥪SUB SANDWICHES for 100 – A Handheld Meal for a Hardworking Day👷‍♂️

1. Build the Sandwich Like a Restaurant

This week’s meal is designed around consistency, quality, and generous portions. Every six-inch sub should be assembled exactly the same way so volunteers can prepare quickly and serve confidently. A recommended build is three slices of turkey, three slices of ham, three slices of roast beef or bacon, two slices of cheese—one Swiss and one American—along with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and mustard. Onions are intentionally omitted because they tend to linger long after lunch is over. Once assembled, each sandwich should be wrapped neatly in wax paper and prepared in advance for fast, efficient service. A consistent build helps with portion control, purchasing, and presentation while ensuring every guest receives the same quality meal.

2. Prepare for Service with Abundance

The goal is to provide a lunch that feels substantial rather than merely convenient. While small bags of chips are common, they often leave people wanting more. Hot potato wedges or seasoned fries create a much more satisfying side and help transform the meal into a complete lunch. Sandwiches can be wrapped and boxed ahead of time while potatoes are prepared in larger batches for efficient distribution. By planning portions carefully and preparing in bulk, the team can serve quickly without sacrificing quality. A well-organized serving line allows more time for conversation, encouragement, and connection.

3. Men at Work – Honoring the Provider

As Father’s Day approaches, this week’s outreach focuses on hardworking men. Some are employed. Some are looking for work. Some are rebuilding after difficult seasons. Others are learning new skills or searching for a fresh start. The purpose of this meal is to encourage men who carry responsibilities and burdens that often go unseen. Alongside the lunch, information about local jobs, training opportunities, and community resources can help provide practical next steps. A good meal feeds the body, but hope for tomorrow feeds the spirit. This lunch is a simple way of saying, “We see you, we appreciate you, and we are cheering you on.”

HYPERMiling: Smart Ideas to Boost Mileage

HYPERMiling Idea 101: Coast to a red light. That is an obvious. The difference is a couple of seconds and a bunch of gas.

I’ve been doing this wrong for the last week… There is a red light, I’m supposed to put it into NEUTRAL and coast. Going down a hill and into a curve… NEUTRAL again. Going down Grant’s Pass – please use your engine to slow you. (you get the idea.) Be smart, Drive from Coast to Coast.

A friend of mine mentioned that you cannot go into neutral with hybrid cars. For what it’s worth, you cannot also do this with electric cars, motorcycles, or airplanes. This idea is best used on good old-fashioned stick shift trucks, but I use it on my Ram 1500 6-cyl, with electrical box truck.

Yes – I use GASBUDDY.com

⛽CHEAP GAS is in the odd places. Get gas outside of Seattle. Best prices are either in Fife at the 7-11 on 3309 Pacific Hwy E. If your looking for a great deal north of Seattle:🚗

COSTCO was the cheapest this week at 5.09 at the Costco in Marysville (16616 Twin Lakes Ave) WA. I was totally excited that the advertised price was $4.99; but when I got there, it bumped Up a notch.🚗
