You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

👩‍🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩‍🍳

The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.

Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

3-part Teaching for Double Decker Sandwich 🥪 Fellowship Night.

🥪 1️⃣ The Invitation — A Table That Welcomes

A hearty sandwich is more than lunch—it’s an open door. Layers of turkey, roast beef, tomato, cheese, lettuce, and pickles stacked between soft bread say something simple and powerful: “You belong here.” When a stranger receives a meal like this, conversation begins, smiles appear, and fellowship grows. Just as Scripture reminds us, “They continued steadfastly in fellowship and in breaking of bread.” (Acts 2:42). A sandwich becomes the first handshake of friendship.

🍅 2️⃣ The Assembly — Build It Generously

Start with sturdy bread—sourdough works beautifully without toasting. Layer turkey or roast beef thickly, add cheese, crisp lettuce, and bright tomato slices. Finish with pickles for that perfect bite of tangy joy. Cut the sandwich into triangles and stack them tall. Keep condiments simple and easy: pump mustard, ketchup, squeeze mayonnaise—quick, friendly, and accessible. The goal isn’t fancy presentation; it’s abundance and ease. Bun and Brioche is often tossed in street ministry, heart sourdough works best!

🤝 3️⃣ The Serving — Fellowship in Action

Place the sandwich in welcoming hands with one thick paper towel—simple, practical dignity. Serve with a smile and a word of greeting. In that moment, food becomes fellowship. Needs are met, strangers become neighbors, and neighbors become friends. As Jesus said in Matthew 25:35, “I was hungry and you gave me food.” A humble sandwich becomes a bridge from hunger to friendship.

CHEAP GAS is in the odd places. Get gas outside of Seattle. Best prices are either in Fife at the 7-11 on 3309 Pacific Hwy E. If your looking for a great deal north of Seattle, $3.59 at the Tulalip Market 2832 116th Ave NE, near Marysville. Be a good planner and it will pay off.
