You have been giving or receiving all year long. This is done with an attitude of thanks to the Lord and to the folks that we meet. This was great…. Now, WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
👩🍳PLEASE WELCOME THE QUARTERMASTER!!!👩🍳
The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

🍔 “The Gospel Burger Night”
cooking for 100? I want to encourage food banks to “Make it easy on yourself” The idea of a perfect burger is just the way you like to make it. Alice will add cream of mushroom soup to make mushroom topped burgers. She’ll soak them in Italian dressing or BBQ sauce and let the patties simmer before final cooking. For the team… easy and production is important. Make it simple.
🥩 1. The Burger — Solid, Simple, Satisfying
A good hamburger is like truth:
- Grilled beef patty
- Melted cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, onion
- Pickle for a little bite
- Ketchup & mustard (because mercy and justice belong together)
Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated.
Just dependable nourishment.
You might say:
“Tonight we’re serving comfort.
A cheeseburger with the works — because God doesn’t hold back when He gives.”
Wrap each one in wax paper — tight, warm, secure.
Like being held together by grace.

📖 2. John 19 — The Cost of Love
This is where it gets holy.
John 19 is not light reading.
It’s sacrifice.
It’s blood.
It’s “It is finished.”
You could include a simple card that says:
“This meal is free.
But your salvation was not.”
Under that:
“When Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, ‘It is finished.’”
— John 19:30
And then on the back:
“For God so loved the world…”
— John 3:16
No pressure.
No manipulation.
Just truth and invitation.

🥔 3. Chips on the Side — Joy in the Ordinary
A bag of chips feels normal. Familiar. Easy.
And that’s the beauty of it.
Sometimes ministry isn’t Italian opera.
Sometimes it’s a cheeseburger and a quiet moment.
You might even say to your team:
“We are not just feeding hunger. We are serving dignity.”

Most of us don’t get out to Spokane; but here is food for thought: The COSTCO 301 5th St, Clarkston, WA is $2.86 near Spokane
CHEAP GAS is in the odd places. Get gas outside of Seattle. Best prices are either in Fife at the 7-11 on 3309 Pacific Hwy E. If your looking for a great deal north of Seattle, $3.59 at the Tulalip Market 2832 116th Ave NE, near Marysville. Be a good planner and it will pay off.
NO – they do not sponsor us. Always a ministry; never monetized.
