MARTHA was more than just your average Susie homemaker, she was the most diligent domestic engineer listed in the New Testament. The oldest sibling of Mary and Lazarus, she has a big task to fill as chief cook and bottle washer. Making a meal in the Roman Era was a very hands-on and labor intense production. Every one needed to pitch in – but they were doing something else. Jesus will meet with each member of this family in a vastly different way. This is the same way that the Lord has and will teach us daily. In fact, Jesus will even explain what is “That Better Thing.”
