The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.
Bratwurst and Sauerkraut is one soul’s version of utopia on a plate. Grilled brats, nice and toasty over a bead of kraut, topped with Dijon mustard is probably one thing that I would call a reward for a doing well. In fact, its more the monster sausage that is the most impressive part of this complete meal. Most restaurant sausages look like pinkie toes, all shriveled up; but the Bavarian knackwurst or the British banger is a real mighty meaty gift to the world of feasting. In Belltown, I told the folks, “Don’t just pray, give us this day our daily bread; but be specific! Ask the Lord what you would like for dinner. Some weeks, I have no idea what I am able to provide until the last minute. So ask the Lord in advance!”
SERVING IDEAS:
Once the brats are simmering to hot, now it is time to fry. I prefer the same as the next guy – give me 2 big ones on a plate; but that is not portion control. Slice your brats into small meaty amounts. Grill on both sides in olive oil and butter.
You can substitute sauerkraut for hearty potatoes or mashed potatoes with skin on. Give an abundant amount of potatoes, then the sausage will last longer!
Have a pump jug of mustard and you are ready for the meatiest adventure of the season. May God bless you as you give to others during this THANKGRATEFULGIVING Season!

The KRAUT just kicked in and I need a toilet!
I’m not being gross when I ask “Can I use your restroom?” I really need to go! “Sorry, the restroom is for customers only.” Is the common answer that I get when I am walking through downtown. Now I am getting desperate, doing the potty dance while casually asking everywhere for an outhouse. I’m even looking for a corner of an alley to… no, that would be wrong and gross. I still gotta go.
I need a camping toilet. Bucket & Bag
It’s not perfect; but it’s better than the bushes at someone’s home. A THICK BLACK BAG and small, like a desk trash can would be the camping solution. If they have a tent, if there is a paint bucket, then a thick small black bag is the solution. It has to be discreet like your doggy poop bag, so it can be thrown away, discreetly. This is not a Gospel sermon opportunity; but it is an honest opportunity to follow the truth of the Gospel. (for a refresher course see James 1:27) every small idea adds to a great solution.
This much effort should be given in the bestest Evangelistic outreach with equal or more planning, prayer and preaching!
