COOKING FOR 100
The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.
When it comes to ENCHILADAS, my family has loved this food group every way possible. Yes, make the food pyramid and you will see that the enchilada has the tomato fruit, the olive nutty flavor the beef or chicken and cornucopia of corn tortilla softened with my choice of oil or veggie oil and topped with cheese-cheese-cheese (dairy) and finally topped with the sour cream and ADVOCADO! This is not just a food pyramid, it is a food diamond!
I was teaching a the felony recovery housing in Cap Hill, Seattle. Everyone hear the Gospel regularly, they received life coaching personally and we share food generously. We were in the mid of the Nehemiah series where the time of rejoicing and feasting was the spot on idea! “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
We used frozen taquitos, covered them with enchilada sauce, cheese, a second layer of enchilada sauce and cheese. We served 90 men and women… RESTAURANT STYLE. Bestest Day Ever!!!
This much effort should be given in the bestest Evangelistic outreach with equal or more planning, prayer and preaching!
