“Pastor Verne preaching on, “Our Abstaining Hope” from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-3. The entrance of gospel produces the results of transformation. God calls us to advance the gospel and to adorn the gospel. Our new life in Christ has a guiding principle of walking with God and pleasing God (4:1). This means that we are guided by the precepts of the Bible (4:2). Those precepts are contained in the commandments of God’s Word. And those commandments are given to us by our Commander, the Lord Jesus Christ (4:3). A transformed life displays a noticeable distinction as we follow the commandments of the Lord. This section includes a precaution, calling the Christian to be distant from, avoid any contact with, and keep away from sexual immorality. We are to maintain a life of moral purity. Turning away purity of life is harmful and destructive. May we reflect the glorious gospel as walk in the light.”
