Pastor Verne preaching on our “Stand Fast Hope” from First Thessalonians 3:6-8. Following Jesus is difficult, and God does not intend for us to accomplish this all by ourselves. He’s provided us with the indwelling Holy Spirit, His Holy Word, and His people. Together not alone is the motto of these verses. We’ll learn three helps we all need in order to be faithful and committed followers of Jesus. We need to be connecting (3:6). This was the Apostle Paul’s desire with the Thessalonian Christians, which led him to send Timothy to check on their faith and love. Secondly, we need to be comforting (3:7). During the afflictions and distresses of life, we need to come alongside others and we need others to come alongside us. And thirdly, we need to be continuing (3:8). We are to keep on keeping on, pressing forward, enduring, persevering, and remain faithful and committed to God. We are to “stand fast in the Lord.”
