Grilled cheese sandwich is an American staple food.
It is one of the classics. Even more so it is the best of comfort food. It reminds us of good days when we were kids. Yes a grilled cheese sandwich is wonderful in every way. I’m going to make myself a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, but I don’t want to forget my neighbor.
To make a dozen or 100 grilled cheese sandwiches should be equally as simple as making one grilled cheese sandwich. You need bread cheese and butter. In downtown Seattle, one Wednesday, it was grilled cheese sandwiches for 70. This was our weekly sidewalk adventure.
Bread. It must be the thickest. I like Texas toast
Cheese. Make it shredded, it makes your job easy.
Butter on the bottom butter on the bread.
Pan in the oven for 12-18 minutes. Now everything is underway. Two sides of an open face sandwich are easier to melt and toast. Once ready, bring the two cheese breads together and slice them diagonally.
Hot tomato soup for a cool evening.
Any bulk can store will sell Campbell’s tomato soup in quart or half gallon size. Alice adds a small amount of heavy whipping cream to give it depth of flavor.
Everything is hot, ready and delicious to go.
Where does your Scripture passage go? There are kids in line, looking for something to do, to read, to collect something. An entire chapter of Scripture goes on a multi-folded business card. God’s Word goes first today. This is the full meal deal.
