Welcome to Your Community Resource Page. As a Seattle Resource Chaplain – my goal has always been to provide for the needs of my neighbors in Seattle. Mrs. Alice and I have been focused on the exact area that we live and help.
It has be said by Napoleon, If you give my troops good socks and a good breakfast, we will win the war.
The problem with life on the sidewalk or for anyone is wet or cold footwear. All that you need to do in order to give yourself a good old-fashioned hypothermia is to have wet socks in the winter. This has been the Doom of many hikers. To get away from that simple problem is think through the DIY of thermal footwear. What do you need to create when there is slush on the ground?
Plastic bag over your sox would be the first idea.
You’ll need a better than grocery bag for 8 cents. Think heavy, think 45 cent grocery plastic bag. Better. Tennis shoes plus a 45 cent bag equals dry feet.
Question… Is there a source for Bible verse logo shopping bags???
Insoles made from last year’s sun shade.
Mylar with bubble wrap is the composition of the sunshade. Take your insole as a template and cut 20 pairs. Make this a church event and you have men’s thermal insoles for the city.
My toes need to stay toasty! Place the Gospel Bible verse on the top side, in the center. Less movement, does not wear out quickly.
Doritos chip bags are made from hearty Mylar. Cut the small chip bag in half, slip the bag over the toes, and push your feet into your shoes. You now have the best toe warmers that lunch money can buy.
Side Effects include warmth, smiles and toes that smell like Doritos chips! Yum.
