Acts Chapter 7 – A Testimony Worth Dying For

Stephen was not just picked by the disciples, then approved by the Apostles; but was probably one of the 70 disciples sent by Jesus in Luke 9:1-6. Stephen was “full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.” Even when threatened, Stephen’s response was peace filled, “as it had been the face of an angel.” You see, he had A Testimony Worth Dying For.”

Acts 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. 5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost.

Exodus 12:40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. 41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

1 Kings 6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

(Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.)
Here is the simple note about verse 45: You noticed that we have saying the name God here? God is the German word for Jehovah. Jesus is the Greek version of the Hebrew name Joshua. Its John vs Juan, just a language change. Don’t make a religion out of 1 verse.

    b. God Speaks to YOU – vs. 48-53
Acts 7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears,
ye do always resist the Holy Ghost:
as your fathers did, so do ye.
52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted?
    and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One;
of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels,
and have not kept it. (the LAW)
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Acts 16:31 – Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.
    c. They Responded by the Stoning of Stephen – vs. 54-60

How Did We Respond to The Truth? Did we Believe?
Are we ready to give the Gospel?

God bless you as you walk with Christ each new day.
