The US Army, US Navy, and US Marines have a book of recipes called the Quartermaster’s Cookbook. It’s a small compilation of 2k+ recipes of how to plan for 100 servings of any and everything.
Her epic meal preparation was known for over a decade. This included providing meals for everyone who joined the Gold Country AWANA program every Wednesday evening. This was a compilation of cooking gear, serving materials, and plates, and everything was ready in advance. Then there were the surprising meals that were so wonderful that a buffet restaurant would be jealous.

The Patron Saint of Corned Beef Tacos (completely fictitious, but spiritually delicious)
“Brothers and sisters… and hungry neighbors…
tonight we witness a miracle of culinary fellowship!
For generations the Irish gave us corned beef and cabbage.
For centuries our Mexican friends gave us tacos of joy.
And tonight… by the mysterious workings of hospitality…
these two traditions have shaken hands in the Kingdom kitchen!”
🌮 Step 1 — The Foundation of Fellowship
Take warm tortillas and fill them with tender corned beef.
Add fresh cabbage slaw for crunch and brightness.
A little lime or dressing to wake up the flavors.
Simple ingredients.
Unexpected harmony.
Just like fellowship — different stories sharing one table.
🍀 Step 2 — The Joyful Surprise
Top those tacos with:
🥬 cabbage slaw
🧀 shredded cheese
🌶️ a drizzle of sauce or mustard crema
🥒 maybe a pickle slice for Irish flair
Now the taco becomes a conversation starter.
Strangers look twice.
Friends laugh.
Curiosity opens the door to community.

Serve them warm.
Serve them generously.
Serve them with a smile.
Because fellowship works best when it’s unexpected, joyful, and shared.
